READY FOR WOK COOKING | HEATING OIL IN THE WOK
The first step in wok cooking is to heat the wok to a medium high temperature and then add the oil to the already hot wok. When you are cooking prawn recipes in the wok or indeed any other wok meals, you always heat the wok first at the start and then add some oil. The amount of oil will vary depending upon the wok recipe ingredients. If you are quickly stir frying just vegetables, you need almost no oil. If you are adding chili peppers, black beans, garlic and ginger then you need a bit more to carry the flavor of the chili peppers and black beans.
